Showdown 2010

You ready for the big one?

8TV is bringing in talent from the streets onto your TV sets, with Showdown 2010!
Dubbed as the best dance crew competition in the history of Malaysian television programming, Showdown 2010 is indeed, in a class of its own.

For the uninitiated, street dance is a flexible form of dance that enables each crew to freestyle according to their own pace.

Exciting hip-hop and fusion dance styles come together
as crews
battle it out along with
professional training and tricky challenges
all thrown into the mix.

During the auditions, the dance crews will break into their own brand-of-style routines to impress the judges. Each crew comprises of between five to seven members.

Successful crews who make it through the auditions will have to go through the ‘Battle’ stage, which takes place the very next day. During this stage, the crews will be involved in a one-on-one battle and the winning crew will proceed to the next stage in KL.

The Johor auditions are over;
Now they're coming over to KL, so why not check out some fresh moves this weekend?

The event'll be held at One Utama's New Wing
Auditions 30th Jan (Sat) 9am - 3pm
Battle 31st Jan (Sun) 5pm - 8pm

(Details were correct at time of publishing, but were not able to be reconfirmed online. This blogger is willing to take the risk of being wrong, though.)

The reality series will start airing on the last day of March,
every Wednesday at 9.30pm.

Boasting award-winning songwriter-rapper Joe Flizzow and experienced dancer-actress-choreographer Maple Loo as the judges, Showdown 2010 aims to bring forth the idea that street dancing deserves more respect and attention from the public.

Maple Loo, pole-dancer extraordinaire.
Be there, or drown in your drool.

This blogger (Nicole) is going no matter what, so interested members, please mail us at thdanceclub@gmail.com if you'd like to come along.
