Confirmed Details of Ballroom Course

Drove like a mad cow. Ran up the escalator with the friendly guard laughing at me to slow down (which doesn't usually happen). Screeched to a halt in front of the ECA Office and waited half an hour for Mr. Polt to arrive at college.

You can blame our Malaysian transport system.

But unnecessary stress aside, this morning's meeting with Reinhard Polt left me feeling buoyant. Excited. For the terrific, fabulous experience we could have at the Viennese Ball which will be organised in KL, this year or the next. For those who'll be unoccupied on March 3 2011, you could even be among the 160 couples selected worldwide to open the annual ball held in the Viennese Opera House.

And all we have to do to be part of that... is to join his workshop at our college - because, as the organiser, he only allows in dancers who have been trained by him.

Confirmed details of the Ballroom Course

Put On Your Glass Slippers

Course details from Reinhard Polt himself!

Each Course should have a duration of 10 hours.

We can choose to spread the 10 hours over
4 days (2.5 hours per day)
or one weekend:

Sat & Sun
Morning (2.5 hours)
Lunch
Afternoon (2.5 hours)

I propose the weekend idea because it would be more convenient for our cousins from TDC Subang to join us.
*Yes, I invited them so hopefully we can have a balance of male and female dancers.*

Mr. Polt is returning to Europe on Apr 25, so we have to conduct the Course over the next two Saturdays!
New, confirmed dates: April 17 & 24
Time: 10.30am - 4.30pm

The schedule for both Saturdays is as follows:

10.30am Class
1.00pm Lunch break
2.00pm Class
4.30pm Dismiss

If there are more than 30 participants, fees would be RM100 per person.
The minimum number of participants is 20. Then the cost would be RM150 per person.
Every participant will get a 'diploma' upon completion.

If anyone is interested in joining Mr. Polt's group from Malaysia to perform as a Debutant at the Vienna State Opera House on March 3 2011, please email me so I can tell him asap!
Just drop a line at swirldancer@ymail.com

P.s. Calling All Cinderella's

Additional information on the ballroom crash course

Venue: Taylor's Sri Hartamas
Date: Sometime during the April holidays (now 'til 18th)
Price: Depends on number of participants. Mr. Polt has charged RM100 for 10 dances in the past! Ultimate steal.

Mr. Polt is actually scouting for talent to send over to the real Viennese Ball in March 2011. Only the best of the best will make it.
On a lighter note, if there is enough response in Malaysia, he will organise a KL version of the Ball this year itself.
The only debutantes permitted at the Ball are those trained by him.

Please get the word around so we can confirm our numbers and fix a price.

So You Wanna Glide Across the Floor?

Ballroom Dance Lessons with World-Renowned Reinhard Polt (Austria)

Mr. Polt is the same person who has been training debutantes for the annual Viennese Ball since KL's inaugural Ball in 2007.
He's here in Malaysia and willing to have lessons for us, ThDC, during the holidays (Apr 8-18).

Check him out, yo.

And for the uninitiated, get the scoop on the Viennese Ball here.
Teens who clinched spots as debutantes were sponsored HEAD TO TOE; designer gown, shoes and all. ^ ^

It is a big, big deal that he's willing and available to teach us in person.
Do grab hold of this opportunity to learn from the best in the world,
it doesn't get any better than ballroom taught by an authentic Austrian dance master.

Please submit your names as soon as possible.
We gotta hurry if we want to arrange classes for the hols!
